Why does it always happen this way with me?? My car/bike purchases are always prefixed by excitement, panic and anxiety. DAYS of almost constant research online .The stress of trying to find a good deal. The stress of trying not to jump the gun on a purchase. It all does horrible things to my already weak health! After its over i always need days to recover. Why do i do this to myself?!
I bet it’s partly an addiction. The thrill of the hunt so to speak :-)

Mine are always like, “Crap ... I need a car like yesterday”

I always buy way too early and only test drive a couple of cars. I get a combination of over-excited and bored so I end up taking one of the first few good deals I see.

Most people don’t care what they get as long as it meets their requirements. Not so for car people. For us, there’s the added element of finding the “right” car. Any vehicle, no matter how cheap it may be, is still a major purchase. Thus, we have the anxiety of trying to find something that not just meets our needs, but that we will be happy with. And it can be hard to do that with just online research.

Oh I herd dat.
Hell, I’m sure most people on Oppo are far too aware of this.
I’m actually in serious car shopping mode myself now and have been for like a month, waiting (seemingly) patiently for my dream car to show up on Craigslist - or even, for the first time in my life, Cars.com or AutoTrader.
I’m looking primarily at the first gen Mini Cooper S and yesterday I thought I was gonna have a serious decision to make because I was planning to test drive an 03 John Cooper Works and pay for an inspection at a European car mechanic which would drive my decision... but the used car dealer bailed on me and “didn’t have plates available” for me to take it out on the road. I didn’t have the best gut feeling about the car (plus it was a tad expensive) and I was really annoyed by how inconsiderate the dealer was so I just decided to drop that Cooper :/
But now I’m excited all over again because of a newly posted S on Craigslist that I’m gonna check out Friday and even bring cash because of how promising it seems :D
